You Are Loved
We Christians believe that each person is uniquely created and loved by God. Not everyone is aware of this. This is so sad because good news is worth sharing. Jesus died for our sake, that we can be assured of his support today and our eternal life.
The fact that most people are unaware of this is what drives the Church’s mission. We believe that each person should come to know God’s love through Jesus Christ—evangelism. Literally applied, evangelism means “good news.”
The good news is that no matter what we’ve done or become, God wants us to experience his love and presence. He guarantees forgiveness, acceptance, and eternal life through the power and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. With all the Church has done, its reason for existence is to communicate and emulate this love.
Those of us who’ve been in the Christian faith for a few decades can lose the fresh memory of what it was like to discover that God loves us. I remember that when my daughter was born I was almost overwhelmed with love. Then I wondered, “is this how my parents felt about me?” Is it how God feels about you and me? Of course it is.
Somehow, God has reached out to you in love. You are important. You are loved. It is my hope that you know how precious you are to God. I also hope that you are able to find a place and time to tell someone who may not know, just how much the Lord loves them.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
