Devotional: Has Anyone Wronged You!

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
We have hope in our most difficult situations. Genesis 50 shares how Joseph has also suffered but in the midst, he hoped in the Lord. Verse 20 says ” ….Do not be afraid for am I in God’s place?” Interesting how this verse informs us that though he was wrongfully accused, incarcerated for decades, mistreated, was misunderstood and sold by his brothers to slavery. But yet, God still promised Joseph a plan. Joseph stood in that promise and it came to pass. He became the governor of where he was once a prisoner of circumstances.
What is your circumstance today? In verse 20, Joseph said to his brothers who sold him to slavery, “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, (to save Joseph’s brothers and family from famine) to preserve many people (not just his brothers) but others in the surrounding nations from starvation. That was the hope God had for Joseph. To continue to await for his hope in the Lord made the future look very bright to Joseph.
Your future may not look good in your eyes, but in God’s eyes, He knows what He has foreordained for you!
