RENEWAL Devotional: I AM the Door
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for RENEWAL at Brookhaven Hospital
In the book of Exodus, God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.”
God is the I AM of your need. There are 365 names of God and they all point to the great I AM. God said to Moses to tell the people of Israel that the God of I AM sent Moses to deliver His people from 400 years of bondage. God heard the cry of the Israelites.
In the new testament, we have a new covenant with Jesus, who is our deliverer and savior. No one who enters through His door shall be turned away.
John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. ”
Have you tried other doors and not been able to receive happiness? Alcohol, drugs, or promiscuity- those are false trap doors.
God is saying to you today, “come right in, we have been expecting you!” “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” [Matthew 11:28-30, NIV]
No one who enters through His door shall be turned away.
