RENEWAL Devotional: Do Not Be Afraid
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for RENEWAL at Brookhaven Hospital
Don Joseph Goewey, author of “The End of Stress: Four Steps to Rewire Your Brain,” says a”worried mind means a chronically stressed brain, and chronic stress generates serious problems.” The study shows that 85% of the time, those things we worry about the most never actually materialize. It is the reason why we must rely on Colossians 3:15. which* says, “And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts …” (AMP)
Whether or not we have inner peace is determined by how we deal with our fear. We are human beings and have emotions that we can control. Fear is one of them. It is an adjustment that we need to make if worry is interfering with our ability to live our best life. We need to allow the peace that is promised to us to be the final word and guiding force of our life.
When you feel worried or anxious about how something might turn out, let God’s peace be your final outcome.
