RENEWAL Devotional: The Passion of Christ is Love
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for RENEWAL at Brookhaven Hospital
Celebrating Easter is a time for family, fun and the re-dedication of our lives to Christ. We remember his crucifixion, burial and death. But we also remember Christ as our risen Lord.
This Sunday, many families are going to church to see either a Risen Lord dramatization or reflect on the hope and promises of God given to us through His Son Jesus.
Let’s remember that the love of Christ was given to us freely, and we receive this great love by faith- not by works. It doesn’t matter how many good things we do in life, if we don’t have faith in God and His Son Jesus.
The passion of Christ was directed by the Father’s will and resulted in a life whose purpose was the cross. Christ died for our sins, so that you and I can enjoy life in peace and not be burdened by it. (John 12:27).
The life of Christ has set a pattern for living a passionate life for him. So live today, for it is He that has given you life.
