RENEWAL Devotional: I am Looking Ahead

Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for RENEWAL at Brookhaven Hospital

Luke 9:62  Jesus said unto him, “No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looks [looking] back…”

We worry about tomorrow. We think about our past, and this can make it difficult to look toward the future. We can’t effectively move forward with our eyes fixed on the rear view mirror. The past is the past, and we need to press towards the mark that is reaching for us. We need to create our future. When we do, it creates an atmosphere of positive energy, excitement and hope. Of course, when we’ve experienced trauma, it can be necessary to reach out for help. After important therapeutic work is done, our past can safely be put away.

We can look forward in life because we know that one day we will see the Lord. It is worth it!  Apostle Paul Says, “Stay on the course. Run the race and obtain the final prize.” 2 Timothy 4:7
