RENEWAL Devotional: Are You Content And Emotionally Stable?
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for Renewal at Brookhaven Hospital
There are times when we don’t feel content or happy with ourselves. Especially when life doesn’t work out the way we planned. We can easily become frustrated, anxious or angry. Apostle Paul said it perfectly when he struggled with contentment. Philippians 4:11 says, “for I have learned in whatever state I am, [in] to be content [in it]. “
What is making you feel discontented? Maybe you’re feeling disappointed because what you hoped for, did not to come to pass when you wanted.
Many Christians feel that way. They feel as though God has let them down. However, God says in Psalms 35:27 “Great is the LORD, who delights in the welfare of his servant!”
That is great news! So be content in whatever state you’re in, even if things look bleak or grim. God promises to see His children blessed.
