RENEWAL Devotional: God is Faithful
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for Renewal at Brookhaven Hospital
“Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” [1 Corinthians 10:12,13 KJV]
Jesus shared his life experience where ever he went. Mostly telling stories in parables because everyone receives the message differently based on where they are in their own spiritual growth. For example, some of us have experienced trauma, but each of those stories are different. We all have our own fingerprints. When we share our story, though, we may identify what a person is going through, the stories don’t have to be the same. That is why it is so important when you have come through your storm, to share your story with someone that may need to hear about your victory.
The more we share our stories, the stronger we get, and the more confident we become in overcoming any storm. Sometimes we need to seek a person that has had a victory over a certain type of situation, so you may receive hope.
The sifting and testing times is to strengthen us, though we may feel some hindrance. The test of these storms demonstrates the weakness we need to strengthen. God never tests us, but takes the opportunity for us to come out of the storm as He always finds a path of escape for us, by praying for us. [Hebrews 13:5]
