RENEWAL Devotional: Take Hold of Your Destiny
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for Renewal at Brookhaven Hospital
In Exodus 4:13 Moses prayed to God “Please, my Lord, just send someone else.” It was Moses’ destiny to return to Egypt to fulfill the assignment that he was destined to complete. However, Moses just wanted to live a simple life with his new family and forget his past. God had other plans for him.
Sometimes we go through difficult times in life and feel inadequate to move forward toward a more meaningful life.
Our dreams may feel like they were crushed or maybe just became dormant for a season. The next thing you know, God reminds you that it is through His strength that you can succeed in life and hold on to your destiny.
Don’t allow shame, guilt or past failures to rob you of your destiny. His grace is sufficient for you to overcome. When you give your life to God, He no longer sees your past. Instead, God sees your future and He wants you to get there- no matter how long it takes.
