RENEWAL Devotional: God Makes No Mistakes
Written by Lydia D’Ross, Ordained Minister and Outreach Chaplain for Renewal at Brookhaven Hospital
“I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born.” (Isaiah 44:2)
Have you ever gone through difficult times in your life and asked God, “Did you make a mistake?” The answer is no. God does not make mistakes. God planned you to be here for such a time as this. It is not by fate or chance, or unplanned pregnancy. You were created for a purpose. You were created to live your life to the fullest extent. Even though God makes no mistakes, He knows that we will make mistakes. God says in His Word, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. “ (2 Corinthians 12:9)
The Bible says, The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me. (Psalm 138:8) God even chose your race, ethnicity, color of your eyes, hair, gender and other features. God purposely made you that way to serve Him.
When in doubt, even King David prayed this to God, “You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something (Psalm 139:15 ).
You are something! You are valuable to God! So live for God and His purpose today!
God made you for a reason, and your life has profound meaning! We discover that meaning and purpose only when we make God the reference point of our lives. The Message paraphrase of Romans 12:3 says, “The only accurate way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us.”
So live for God today, and enjoy your life!
