The God kind of Love this Valentine’s Day

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world [you] that he gave his only begotten son…”
Romantic love and God’s love are distinctly different, but every genuine love is a form of self-giving. Love is not a thing to be exchanged, but a gift that brings the giver intimately into another’s life. When being in love means commitment to a person, then love lasts as long as the person loved. True love asks for nothing in return. True love doesn’t keep a list of wrongdoing. This kind of love is how God loves us. Love is expressed by actions. This may be difficult for marriages that have lost that spark of love they first felt.
I love watching Kirk Cameron’s movie “Fireproof.” It is definitely a movie worth seeing with your loved one. It could help to reignite the flame, and would be a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Attending marriage seminars, love cruises or a weekend getaway could also help to bring the spirit of Valentine’s Day to your relationship all year long.
