RENEWAL Devotional: Hope for the Holidays

Written by: Lydia D’Ross, Renewal Program Outreach Chaplain and ordained minister

“May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.”  Psalm 33-22

This scripture helps us start the day with a thankful heart, because we’re reminded that we don’t have anything without Him.  For some people, the Christmas season is just another year of exchanged gifts, parties and decorations. The holiday season can also be a difficult time of year for some people, maybe because they have lost their loved ones during this time and they are struggling to get through the season. For others, it can also be a time of financial hardships, living paycheck to paycheck might not allow one to purchase all the gifts they would like to give to others.

Whatever your reason may be, God has always shown himself to be strong in your life, and wants you to know that Christ means hope.  He is not a false hope, but is a renewal of hope so we don’t have to doubt.

Wherever there is faith- there is hope.  Our prayer for you this Christmas season is that your hope be renewed in Christ.
