Renewal Program Outcome and Satisfaction Results
Renewal Mission Statement
The Renewal Program at Brookhaven Hospital offers adjunct treatment options for Christians with a behavioral health, chemical dependency, or eating disorder problem. Consistent with a Christian world view, we see these problems as physical, emotional, and spiritual illnesses and the path to recovery requiring an integration of treatment for these aspects of our lives.
Program Description
Brookhaven Hospital practices an interdisciplinary approach to our patient’s treatment. In adhering to the mind, body and soul aspects of healing, Brookhaven offers the Renewal Program to all patients as an adjunct to other services. The program is Christian based and consists of:
- Spirituality Group Monday through Saturday
- Church services on Sunday
- Bible Study seven nights a week on various topics
- Pastoral Counseling by request
- Linkage to other spiritual leaders in the community as needed
These services are optional. Other services provided by the hospital are required by various oversight bodies such as the Joint Commission, Oklahoma Health Department, Medicare, Medicaid, and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Interpretation
The average admission score results indicate that many of the patients admitting during the quarter had a moderate spiritual deficiency. After participation in the Renewal Program, the discharge score indicates that many patients improved by almost five points on average. This improvement indicates that for many patients, they progressed from a moderate spiritual deficiency to a total score that indicates “normal” spiritual development. The overall results indicate that the Renewal Program is successful in assisting patients in their spiritual recovery.
Renewal Satisfaction
Patient satisfaction is an important component of any program and is a general indicator of the program’s quality of care. The Renewal Program administers the patient satisfaction survey at discharge to evaluate the Renewal Program services. Following are the results for the current quarter:
